Tibetan is also known as Bhotia, Bod, Bod Skad, Central Tibetan, Lhasa Tibetan, Phoke, Pohbetian, Poke, Skad, Tebilian, Tibate, Wei, Weizang, Zang and Zang Wen.

Tibetan is mainly spoken in China, India, United States, Nepal, Taiwan, Switzerland, Norway and Bhutan.
