Luke 12:53-59

⁵³Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

⁵⁴Then He also said to the crowds: “Whenever you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A rainstorm is coming,’ and so it does.

⁵⁵And whenever a south wind blows, you say, ‘It will be hot,’ and it happens.

⁵⁶Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky and of the earth, so how can you not discern this time?

⁵⁷Also why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right?

⁵⁸“When you are going with your adversary to the magistrate, make every effort along the way to settle with him, lest he drag you to the judge, the judge deliver you to the bailiff, and the bailiff throw you into prison.

⁵⁹I tell you, you will by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.”
