In 1st Kings the son of David and Bethsheba, Solomon becomes king. He asks God for wisdom and God answers his prayer. Solomon had many wives and that was his weakness. As a consequence of Solomon's failure to stamp out the worship of gods(by his wives) other than Yahweh, the kingdom of David is split in two.
