2 Kings - Isaac Leeser Tanakh

Illustration of 2 Kings in Isaac Leeser Tanakh

About The Second Book of the Kings, Commonly Called the Fourth Book of the Kings

Hezekiah institutes a far reaching religious reform, centralizing sacrifice at the temple at Jerusalem and destroying the images of other gods. Yahweh saves Jerusalem and the kingdom from an invasion by Assyria. But Manasseh, the next king, reverses the reforms. Josiah re-institutes the reforms of Hezekiah, but it is too late.
