John 9:6-15

⁶Having thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay with the spittle, and anointed his eyes with the clay,

⁷and said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam; (which is, when translated, Sent.) He went away therefore, and washed and came seeing.

⁸The neighbors therefore, and they who before had seen him as a beggar, said, Is not this he that sits and begs?

⁹Some said, This is he. Others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am he.

¹⁰They said therefore to him How then were thine eyes opened?

¹¹He answered, The man who is called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam, and wash. I went therefore and washed, and received sight.

¹²And they said to him, Where is that man? He saith, I do not know.

¹³They bring to the Pharisees him who had once been blind.

¹⁴And the day on which Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes was the sabbath.

¹⁵Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. He said to them, He put clay on my eyes, and I washed them, and I see.
