John 7:2-17

²Now the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near.

³His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see the works that You do.

⁴For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”

⁵For not even His brothers believed in Him.

⁶Then Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.

⁷The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify about it, that its works are evil.

⁸You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because My time has not yet been fulfilled.”

⁹When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.

¹⁰But when His brothers had gone up, then also He Himself went up to the feast, not openly, but in private.

¹¹Then the Jews were seeking Him at the feast, and said, “Where is He?”

¹²And there was much murmuring among the crowds concerning Him. Some on the one hand were saying, “He is a good Man”; while others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He deceives the people.”

¹³However, no one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.

¹⁴But now about the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.

¹⁵And the Jews were marveling, saying, “How has this Man become learned, since He has not been educated?”

¹⁶Therefore Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

¹⁷If anyone desires to do His will, he will know about the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I am speaking on My own authority.
