John 4:1-5

¹Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and was baptizing more disciples than John

²(although Jesus Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples),

³He left Judea and went away into Galilee.

⁴But He needed to pass through Samaria.

⁵Therefore He came to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near the piece of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
